An incoming studio is aiming to get Liberty Hill moving. Dance Republic will open in Liberty Hill on July 14. Upon opening, it will become the city’s first dedicated dance studio.

The details

Dance Republic was founded by Maggie Rains and Rachel Wilks, two lifelong dancers. Rains said she spent 15 years working in the business management space, but the studio has been a dream her whole life.

“I have been dancing since I was two and started teaching when I was 15,” Rains said. “Being able to marry the two sides of my life together, the business world and the dance world, has been serendipitous.”

What they offer

The studio offers instruction in a variety of dance styles, including tap, ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, musical theater and more. Classes are open to toddlers, children, teens and adults. The studio will also offer special day camps, such as Books & Boogie, a program that integrates pre-K curriculum with dance and movement.

“Its a really cool opportunity,” Rains said. “Parents will know that kids are getting both their preschool activities and their extracurricular activities.

The studio will have a staff of 12 multi-talented instructors. Dance Republic has four studio spaces, allowing the team to teach multiple classes throughout the day.

What’s next?

Registration for summer camps and clubs are open now. The studio will be holding company auditions for kindergarten through 12th grade, which will allow dancers to become part of the studio’s competition teams.
