“This is one of those things that the cemetery board has been working on for quite a while,” Council Member Kevin Plunkett said. “They've expressed their interest in having the old house in front removed and to expand the cemetery in that direction.”
The cemetery, which is experiencing limited availability, is undergoing an expansion of 622 lots. The project includes a new columbarium for cremated remains housing 480 niches. Construction is set to be completed in early 2025.
Located at 1307 Hwy. 95, the cemetery is one of the oldest in Texas.
