Local couple Chef Ephriam "EZ" Martinez and Amber Rinker opened the doors to Abbey's Tavern & Grill—named after their daughter—on March 21.

Specializing in locally sourced comfort food, the eatery is located on Smithville's main drag and can seat up to 70 people.

"We love the process of sourcing the food and creating amazing dishes from local ingredients," Martinez said. "We want to bring the flavors of the world into the wonderful small town of Smithville."

In addition to food and drinks, Martinez said he and Rinker hope to provide an inclusive space for the community to gather, with weekly specials and live music.

"We all offer catering for events and large to-go orders," Martinez said, adding that he can create menus based on the customer's preferences.
