Abbey’s Tavern & Grill

Local couple Chef Ephriam "EZ" Martinez and Amber Rinker opened the doors to the new Smithville eatery, which offers locally sourced comfort food. In addition to food and drinks, Abbey’s Tavern & Grill offers catering for events and large to-go orders.Urban Beauty Bastrop

Local husband-and-wife duo Corey and Sarah McElmurray launched the beauty salon, which specializes in hair coloring services. Other enrichments available at Urban Beauty Bastrop include haircuts and extensions as well as eyebrow and lash services, in addition to handcrafted jewelry.Frost Bank


The bank offers a range of personal and commercial financial services. The financial center is part of the institution's plans to double the number of Frost Banks in the Austin area from 17 to 34 in the next two years, and is the second bank to open in the expansion following a new location in Northwest Austin.In The Sticks

Local business owner and artist Alan Barnette—who also started Prima Dora on South Congress in Austin—offers a range of merchandise made by artists, with an emphasis on artists from Central Texas. The small storefront is filled with colorful items, from artwork to jewelry, candles, planters, books and much more. Barnette said he enjoys curating the unique items for his shop while also supporting the artists who make them.

Comfort Cafe On The Go

Part of the Comfort Cafe family, which benefits nonprofit Serenity Star, founders Theresa and Rosalina Lopez designed the food truck to offer a taste of the original Smithville spot. Options range from specialty omelets to eggs Benedicts, waffles, paninis and more.

Tough Cookie Bakery

Owners Chris and Jennie McEwan and relocated the locally owned cafe, bakery and coffee shop from its former spot near Neighbor’s Kitchen & Yard to Main Street in March. All of Tough Cookie’s food options are vegan or vegetarian, with many gluten-free options as well.In the news
