Stacey Braden opened Gravity District in July 2022 to offer customers a healthy, fun exercise option. Gravity District offers the first three classes for the price of two as part of their new student special. A 10% discount is offered for veterans and Bastrop ISD educators.

What’s special about it?

The first aerial studio in Bastrop, Gravity District offers a variety of classes, including silks; lyra, or aerial hoop; pole; and barre. The studio also offers floor-based rhythm workout classes like POUND Rockout Workout where students simulate drumming to upbeat music with weighted drum sticks.

“The majority of our classes are all levels, so you kind of can't go wrong,” Braden said.

According to Braden, most people feel comfortable starting with a class that is ground-based then moving to aerials.

“I feel like we're very inclusive, very supportive,” Braden said. “We try to create wins for everybody who comes in the door.”

Braden suggests low-impact workouts such as bungee classes for senior citizen students.

“There's a lot of people that will tell me, ‘I'm too old for this’ or ‘I've got arthritis,’ and I'm like, ‘Great! Come on!’ because we do have stuff that's very low-impact,” Braden said.

Also of note

The studio offers Little Dippers and Comets classes for children aged 3 to 5 and 6 to 9, respectively. On Thursdays, Gravity District partners with Mina Elementary school for a program called Gravity Growers, offering activities for grades K-5.

Gravity District hosts ladies’ night socials every second Friday of the month and offers talent for event performances. The Gravity District members will be performing at the Lost Pines Art Gala on Nov. 9.

"I would just love to show that Bastrop has talent and resources that you can use as well," Braden said.
