Central Texas residents have the opportunity to influence the region’s transportation future through April 14 by giving feedback on the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan.

In a nutshell

Hosted by the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, CAMPO, the outreach initiative includes in-person open houses and an online survey to gather public feedback on plans aimed at addressing traffic congestion and transportation needs in the counties of Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson from 2025 to 2050.

In-person open houses will be held:
  • April 4, 7-9 p.m., Pfluger Park during Music in the Park, 515 City Park Road, Pflugerville
  • April 5, 3-6 p.m., Buda's Amphitheater during Buda's Birthday, 204 San Antonio St., Buda
  • April 11, 5:45-8 p.m., Bluebonnet Festival, 101 N. Pierce St., Burnet
  • April 12, 1-5 p.m., Bee Cave Public Library during Books and Bees Festival, 4000 Galleria Parkway, Bee Cave
  • April 14, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., The Junior League of Austin Community Impact Center, 5330 Bluffstone Lane, Austin

The details

According to CAMPO officials, the plan will include improvements to roads, transit and nonvehicle transportation options, such as walking and biking.

In a news release, officials said they will also integrate the latest technologies and travel strategies to make the most of existing infrastructure.
