Notable quote

“Though Bastrop history frequently emphasizes the political and military accomplishments of its male population, women were the backbone of family, culture, society and education in Bastrop County,” Hubbard said in the release. ”They have operated schools, fought for civic improvements, preserved history, broke societal barriers and generally kept the home fires burning brightly in the county for 200 years.”
