Proceeds from the tour benefit the Bastrop County Historical Society and the organization’s efforts to preserve the county’s history. The event contributes to the preservation of the historical landmarks.
Quote of note
“Travel through time this holiday season as you tour homes of 19th-century German immigrants, a trailblazing businesswoman, a dedicated pharmacist, a local mayor, a county home demonstration agent and even a railroad bridge watchman,” officials said in the news release. “Walk in the footsteps of European royalty, Chittlin’ Circuit entertainers and a modern-day heroine who successfully campaigned for a new national holiday.”
