Bastrop ISD enrollment growing amid statewide decline, demographic report shows

Bastrop ISD is projected to enroll 19,500 students over the next decade, due in part to the area's potential for housing development and business activity. A quarterly update from demographics firm Zonda Education shows Bastrop ISD's student population is growing as many independent school districts around the state are experiencing a decline in enrollment.

Bastrop ISD honors first cohort of P-TECH students signing with Acutronic Apprenticeship Alliance


Bastrop ISD honored students who have committed to its Pathways in Early Technology Early High School programs for advanced manufacturing in May, as well as three Cedar Creek High School students who will participate in the first cohort of a partnership with Acutronic. The signing ceremony commemorated the first cohort of P-TECH students to sign on to an apprenticeship program—the Acutronic Apprenticeship Alliance—through the advanced manufacturing P-TECH program, as well as other students who were committing to joining the district's two P-TECH academies.

Bastrop ISD chooses mascots, colors for new campuses opening this fall

Bastrop ISD trustees approved proposals for school colors and mascots to represent three new campuses set to open this fall at an April board meeting. Trustees approved the school colors and mascots for Adelton Elementary School, Creekside Middle School and Riverside Middle School in an April 15 board meeting. The new campuses are set to open this fall, addressing growth needs in the district.
