The details
The location—which offers dine-in, takeout, delivery and catering—marks the 22nd in Texas.
“Expanding into Bastrop is a meaningful move as we continue scaling with purpose,” Craig Haley, president of Smokey Mo’s BBQ, said in a previous statement. “This community is growing fast, especially with its emergence as a tech hub east of Austin, and it aligns perfectly with our model.”
Construction began in late July and was estimated to cost $650,000, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Notable quote
“We’re very interested in partnering with local high schools, the city and just being a part of the events all across town,” Haley previously told Community Impact. “Food is such an important part of holidays and gatherings. You know, graduations, weddings, football games—all of those things. So we’re a place that you can count on for all of the milestone events in your life.”
