75-acre mixed-use development to bring new businesses, multifamily housing and more to Bastrop

In April, Pearl River Companies will be breaking ground on the next phase of a 75-acre mixed-use development—Sendero. Once completed, the development will feature new hotel, retail, dining, housing, and health and wellness options.

The first phase of Alta Trails multifamily apartments has been completed on the property, kicking off a project that is slated to be completed by 2030.

11,985-square-foot retail center to be built in Bastrop’s Adelton community

Developers have announced plans for a retail center in Adelton, marking a major step toward delivering the first shops and services for the mixed-use, master-planned community in Bastrop.


The retail center, which will offer 11,985 square feet of total space, will begin construction in mid-2027, said Taylor Medlin, a spokesperson for Adelton developers Benchmark Austin.

Central Texas is rapidly emerging as a hub for film production with major developments and strategic investments either already established or in the works.

For Bastrop, its location is attracting new projects like Wyldwood Studios—a 75-acre development spurred by actor Zachary Levi, who aims to establish the latest alternative to Hollywood.

30,000-square-foot 'Project Fiesta' factory shell under construction in Bastrop

Site work for a 30,000-square-foot factory shell building for a food manufacturing operation is underway in Bastrop.


Project information from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation states a construction of a shell building at 414 Technology Drive in Bastrop will continue through April 2026.

Sendero mixed-use development breaks ground in Bastrop

Bastrop is one step closer to having access to more dining, retail, hospitality and wellness options after the groundbreaking of Sendero, a 75-acre mixed-use development.

On April 10, Pearl River Companies developers, members of the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, and local officials celebrated the groundbreaking of Phase 1 of Commercial and Retail development at the intersection of FM 969 and SH 71.
