Bastrop will serve as a starting point for the first time in the 42nd annual Texas MS 150, a cycling fundraiser benefiting the National MS Society and supporting multiple sclerosis initiatives.

In a news release, officials said riders can choose between one- and two-day routes, though all riders are invited to an overnight celebration at the finish line on night one.
The 38-mile Bastrop route will start at Mayfest Park, 25 American Legion Drive and travel through Buescher State Park in Smithville before finishing in La Grange.
