The details
Now, the family-owned business, currently located at 808 Spring St. in Bastrop, will soon relocate to College Street.
“I had been in the ticket business up until I started Victory Tickets for 16 years with a company in Austin,” Rick Rivera, who co-founded the business with his wife, Christy Rivera, told Community Impact. “I was essentially tired of driving to Austin and figured I’d take the leap of faith.”
He reflected on the swift support they received.
“We started from our guest bedroom and started to grow,” Rivera said. “So we moved into an office in Downtown Bastrop and have been there for eight years.”
Zooming in
Although Rivera, who has lived in Bastrop for 25 years, said Victory Tickets almost closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, they are back on an upward trajectory.
“We’re trying to gain more local business and that’s kind of the reason we are moving to a new location,” he said. “It’s our first brick-and-mortar, so we’ve renovated this building and will be moving into it in about three weeks. We’re about 95% done.”
He listed several reasons that spurred the move, including:
- Growth within the company
- The desire to own their storefront
- Better visibility
About the business
Rivera, who has clients from across the country, stressed how Victory Tickets can take the hassle out of the purchasing process.
“If you want to go to a Cowboys game Sunday, and you feel like you don’t have the time or don’t know where to look, that’s where we come in,” he said. “We have thousands of tickets at our fingertips. With our experience and knowledge of the stadiums and teams, we can make your life so much easier.”
Victory Tickets has access to everything from the Texas Longhorns to the World Cup, Kentucky Derby, Super Bowl, The Masters and the Final Four.
“We like to say it’s not sold out till we say it is,” Rivera said.
