Musical acts Ray Wylie Hubbard and Shinyribs will headline the city of Austin's annual New Year's celebration, according to a Nov. 15 news release from the city. The event begins at 3 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Vic Mathias Shores at the intersection of South First Street and West Riverside Drive. The alcohol-free celebration will include performances from 22 bands on four stages as well as art showcases and food trucks. Fireworks start at 10 p.m. Hubbard is Texas country singer and songwriter who released his first album in 1976. He performed in 2015 for Austin's KUTX radio station:
  Shinyribs, led by singer and guitarist Kevin Russell, is based in Austin. The band performed in May at Music City Roots Live from The Factory in Nashville, Tennessee:
  City event organizers also confirmed several other acts: The Peterson Brothers, Tameca Jones, Jackie Venson, Migrant Kids and the Harvest Thieves.
