Stratus Properties CEO Beau Armstrong said today that FunFunFun Festival, an Austin music and comedy showcase his company owns, will not be held in 2016.

Armstrong said in a statement that in 2017 the event is set to move to Halloween weekend.

"The city—the mayor and the parks department in particular—have been very supportive and have worked diligently with us to make sure FFF continues," Armstrong said in a statement.  "We are currently undergoing a competitive process to find the right operating partner for 2017 and beyond, and therefore will be taking this year off. There has been a lot of interest, and hopefully, we will have something to announce within the next few weeks."

The festival, which in 2015 was held at Auditorium Shores on Nov. 6-8, was "renowned for its musical lineup, as well as its collection of comedy, food, action sports and poster art experiences," according to the festival's website. The event started in 2006.

"We feel like the festival is complimentary to Stratus' music and private events venue, ACL Live, and will be focusing our music-related business on these two assets," Armstrong said in a statement. "We are no longer in the third-party production business."
