Members of Allen City Council will discuss approving contracts for water and sewer improvements, bridge repairs and more at an upcoming meeting.
Allen City Council will meet at 6 p.m. July 14 for a work session, with a regular meeting to follow at 7 p.m.
The specifics
Council members will consider approval of a $659,248 contract with Freese and Nichols for survey and engineering services related to several water and sanitary sewer improvement projects.
The project involves about 18,565 linear feet of water lines and about 8,320 linear feet of sewer lines across six different locations, including Allen’s Extra Territorial Jurisdiction, Whisenant Estates, Greenville Avenue and three creek crossings, per city documents.
Council members will also consider approving a $144,390 contract with Garret Shields Infrastructure to repair two bridges.
The bridges are located at McDermott Drive near Rowlett Creek and Rowlett Creek Tributary, per city documents. The sidewalk at both bridges has settled, leading to hazards, city documents state.
