Need something to do this weekend? Here's a list of five events happening in the Allen area Aug. 14-16. This list is not comprehensive and events are subject to change.
1. The Market at The Village at Allen
The Village at Allen is hosting a farmers market at The Grove with fresh produce and handmade items from local artisans. The event is family friendly and dogs are welcome.
2. Concert at Watters Creek Village
North Texas band Travelin’ Jed will be performing a mix of blues, soul and rock 'n' roll music at Watters Creek Village. Guests can purchase food and drinks from surrounding restaurants.
3. Yoga at Mindful Mermaid
Mindful Mermaid is hosting a QiYoga workshop, which is a combination of the Qigong practice with Yin yoga. Attendees should bring a yoga mat. Participants of all ages and experience levels are welcome.
4. Bags for Gold Cornhole Tournament
The Allen Police Department is hosting the fourth annual cornhole tournament. Proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Texas and local Special Olympics athletes. Teams can register to participate in the tournament online.
5. Learn about shade gardening
Attendees will learn how to maintain a garden with little sunlight from Collin County Master Gardeners.
