The city’s signature annual Allen USA event is being held this weekend, celebrating both America’s 250th birthday and Allen’s 150th anniversary.
The overview
The free event will be held from 6-10 p.m. June 27 at Celebration Park, located at 701 N. Angel Parkway, Allen. No tickets or registration are needed for attendees, but guests 18 and younger must enter the event with a parent or guardian, the city’s website states.
The event will feature live music, a skydiving show, more than a dozen food trucks and one of the largest fireworks shows in North Texas, a news release states.
Transportation and parking
Various streets surrounding the event will be closed to traffic during the event, per the city’s website.
A free shuttle service will be available starting at 5 p.m. Attendees can park at Allen High School at 300 Rivercrest Blvd., Allen, and board the shuttle at the school’s front entrance roundabout. The shuttle will operate until 11 p.m., but will pause service from 9 p.m. until the conclusion of the fireworks finale. Pets, canopies, glass containers, alcohol and large coolers are not allowed on shuttles, according to the city’s website.
Remote park-and-walk sites are available at Story Elementary, located at 1550 Edelweiss Drive, Allen, as well as at Olson Elementary, located at 1751 E. Exchange Parkway, Allen. There will also be a dedicated drop-off and pick-up site for attendees using rideshare services at Children’s Lighthouse, located at 1605 E. Main St., Allen.
Parking will be not available at Allen ISD Eagle Stadium, Anderson Early Childhood Center or Curtis Middle School, the city’s website states.
