Top esports teams from around the world will travel to Allen this fall.
The Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen will host the 2026 League of Legends World Championship this fall, and the event is expected to draw both tourism and economic impact, according to a city news release.

The event center will host three matches that determine which teams will compete in the World Championship Final, the release states. The schedule includes:
- Swiss Stage: Oct. 23-26, Oct. 28-31
- Quarterfinals: Nov. 3-6
- Semifinals: Nov. 7-8
Allen is the first city in the history of the tournament to host all three matches in one location, the release states. Other cities that have hosted the League of Legends World Championship include London, Paris, Seoul, Berlin, San Francisco and New York, per the release. The event also draws worldwide viewership, with 190 million hours of the tournament watched globally in 2024.
“This is an incredible opportunity to showcase Allen on a truly global stage,” Allen Mayor Chris Schulmeister said in the release.
The impact
This event has the potential to draw tourists to the city of Allen from around the world, generating sales tax dollars and hotel occupancy tax revenue as guests stay at local hotels and eat at Allen restaurants, the release states. Previous League of Legends World Championship events have generated approximately $53 million in revenue across multiple host cities.
“Hosting these championship rounds is a tremendous win for Allen and reinforces our reputation as a premier destination for major events,” said Brandy O’Keefe, director of the Allen Convention and Visitors Bureau, in the release. “Visitors will experience not only world-class competition but also the hospitality, dining, shopping and attractions that make Allen a destination worth exploring. The excitement generated by this event will leave a lasting impression long after the final match is played.”
