1. Allen Chamber of Commerce relocates, debuts new office in downtown
The Allen Chamber of Commerce has a new office in downtown Allen.
Representatives of the organization celebrated relocating to the approximately 2,500 square-foot space at a July 15 ribbon cutting ceremony. The event, attended by chamber of commerce members and community leaders, featured a look at the new office and comments from stakeholders.
The Allen Chamber of Commerce was formerly located at 210 W. McDermott Drive. The organization had occupied the just under 2,000-square-foot space for about 30 years, Allen Chamber of Commerce President Kyle Jacobson said.
2. Hot Topic coming soon to Allen Premium Outlets

Hot Topic is coming soon to Allen.
Construction is expected to begin in September and wrap up in early December. The 2,916-square-foot renovation project is expected to cost $180,000.
Hot Topic sells clothing, accessories, toys, collectibles, home decorations and more, per its website.
Senor Brims Barbershop & Hat Studio is relocating within Allen this fall, a company representative said.
The business offers men’s haircuts, beard trims and custom-made fedora hats, per its website. Senor Brims Barbershop & Hat Studio will move to a new suite in the same building, the representative said. It is currently located at 803 E. Main St., Ste. E, Allen.
Allen Civic Ballet is relocating this fall, president and artistic director Stefanie Best said.
Allen Civic Ballet is currently sharing a location with Allen Conservatory of Dance at 602 E. Main St., Ste. E. The Allen Conservatory of Dance is the "official school of the Allen Civic Ballet," according to its website. The Allen Civic Ballet is a nonprofit organization that showcases young performers between 12-21 years old.
The relocation will bring both organizations under the same umbrella, Best said.
“We're going to be closing shop as the Allen Conservatory of Dance and moving everything from the old location to the new location,” Best said.
