The Allen Chamber of Commerce has a new office in downtown Allen.
Representatives of the organization celebrated relocating to the approximately 2,500 square-foot space at a July 15 ribbon cutting ceremony. The event, attended by chamber of commerce members and community leaders, featured a look at the new office and comments from stakeholders.
The gist
The Allen Chamber of Commerce was formerly located at 210 W. McDermott Drive. The organization had occupied the just under 2,000-square-foot space for about 30 years, Allen Chamber of Commerce President Kyle Jacobson said.
In 2024, staff noticed that although the former office met internal needs, it did not provide enough space for chamber members or community events, Jacobson said. Chamber staff also began an organizational rebrand around the same time, which led to the search for a new building.
“Staying in downtown Allen was something that was very appealing to us as a chamber when we started this process, and we certainly want the chamber to be part of that conversation moving forward,” Jacobson said. “Hopefully, part of the solution as we continue to support downtown redevelopment.”
The expanded office provides a dedicated coworking space for chamber members and allows the chamber to host ribbon cutting ceremonies for businesses without brick-and-mortar locations, Jacobson said.

The new office occupies a space in The Asher, a more than 46,000-square-foot, three-floor multi-tenant office building that underwent a renovation after being acquired by Gillett Commercial. The event also marked the grand opening of The Asher building following the upgrades. The building houses other tenants such as True Haven Therapy, Carillon Financial Corp., and Regus, which offers office space rentals and co-working spaces.
“We’re very excited to share this space with other local businesses,” Jacobson said of the building.

Tonya Walker, a real estate agent and the chamber’s immediate past chair of the board, said the new office represents the continued growth of the Allen Chamber of Commerce and create opportunity to continue expanding the organization’s membership.
“Every day we are encouraging businesses to invest in themselves, build relationships and grow,” she said. “Today we are celebrating [that] the chamber is doing the same thing.”
The chamber’s growth has led the organization to being “as robust today as it’s even been,” Allen Mayor Chris Schulmeister said
“The Allen City Council commends the Allen Chamber of Commerce for its role in advancing business success and its continued impact on the prosperity and success of the city of Allen,” Schulmeister said in an official proclamation at the June 15 event.
