Here are four things to know this week if you live in The Woodlands area.

1. The Woodlands Township board of directors elected its new board chairman last week. Gordy Bunch, who has served on the board since 2012, was chosen unanimously to serve as the chairman for 2016-17. John McMullan will serve as vice chairman, and Ann Snyder and Laura Fillault will serve as treasurer and secretary, respectively.

2. Longtime residents of The Woodlands are most likely familiar with the diorama and picture displays of The Woodlands that were housed in the now shuttered Homefinder Center off Woodlands Parkway. This Wednesday, the township board of directors will consider accepting a donation of the displays from The Woodlands Development Company. However, the cost of the project—dismantling, reassembling and constructing a new public display—is approximately $200,000.

3. The Woodlands Children’s Museum hosts a catered Pancakes with Santa event from 8-11 a.m. this Saturday. The event features live entertainment, face painting, a puppet show and the opportunity to write letters to Santa Claus. Reservations are required. 4. A new modern office concept is coming to The Woodlands area next spring on the east side of I-45. The Work Lodge-Havenwood will offer individual and company-based membership plans with access to fiber-based high-speed internet, free coffee, conference rooms and private offices.
