The deadline to file for one of four positions on the Oak Ridge North City Council ended Feb. 17 with only one council member position contested.

Paul Bond, who currently holds the Place 1 seat after former Council Member Tom Coale resigned in January, is running uncontested in a special election for the seat. Incumbent Clint McClaren is running uncontested for Place 2 in the general election, and incumbent Frances Planchard is running uncontested for Place 5.

The only contested race will be for Place 4, and it is between incumbent Michelle Cassio and newcomer Dan Broyles.

April 6 is the due date for filing the first report of campaign contributions and expenditures by opposing candidates. April 24 marks the first day of early voting, which lasts through May 2. Election day will be held May 6 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
