The Woodlands Township board of directors meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. To view the entire agenda, click here.

Here are 4 items of note the board will discuss during the meeting:

1. The board will hear an update regarding the Bear Branch Park Master Plan, which is being updated by Burditt Consultants. Representatives from Burditt will present concepts to the board Wednesday for input specifically on the 50-meter pool at the park that must be either repaired or replaced. The master plan also includes park and parking improvements and a recreation center expansion, but no specific funding has been identified for the project, according to the township.

2. The Woodlands Township conducts a residential survey every two years for the purpose of obtaining resident opinions of services and communitywide issues. A representative from the National Research Center will present the newest survey findings during the meeting. According to the township, there was an overall response rate of 25 percent, resulting in 1,553 residents who completed the survey.

3. The board will consider approving a letter of support to use the Hardy Toll Road for a portion of the 2018 Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas bicycle route. The 2017 event, which takes place in April, will also use the toll road for a majority of the bicycle portion of the event. However, a short portion will use Woodlands Parkway between Grogans Mill Road and Cochran’s Crossing Drive in the morning. For the longer term, the bicycle portion may someday be able to take place along trails in the Spring Creek Greenway, according to the township.

4. The township will consider a resolution in support of Woodlands founder George Mitchell’s vision of diversity in the community. During the February board of director’s meeting, several residents came forward during the public comment portion of the agenda to express concerns regarding proposed federal and state government immigration law changes. Although the township has no authority over immigration laws and enforcement of such laws, it will consider a resolution encouraging all residents and businesses to recognize the value of a diverse community and support Mitchell’s original vision for The Woodlands.
