Community children will have the opportunity to climb inside emergency vehicles and learn from public safety officers during an event hosted by the Leander Fire Department, Aug. 12.

Members of the Leander Police Department, Williamson County Communications and Williamson County County EMS will also be in attendance at Robin Bledsoe Park.

Local officers will showcase fire trucks, police cars and ambulances, and firefighters, police officers, emergency management services officers and specialized teams from various city and county agencies will be on-hand to answer questions. Several of the agencies in attendance will have freebies and stickers for children, according to the fire department.

The Leander Fire Department Command Staff and firefighters will also be available to answer questions about the Leander Volunteer Fire Academy, which will begin taking applications in late July.

The Fire and Rescue Round Up is followed by the city of Leander's Movies in the Park event, which will play Disney's "Planes: Fire & Rescue" at 8:30 p.m.
