There are several events happening in The Woodlands area this weekend, Aug. 6-9, including movies on the lawn, Church Project’s back-to-school event and Rock the Row. Events are subject to change.
Movies on the Lawn
The Woodlands Mall is continuing its outdoor movie series on the lawn in the courtyard. Families will have a chance to grab dinner and relax over a movie in one place on Aug. 6, for "Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie."
Live shows at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has a series of events happening this weekend including performances by John Mellencamp on Aug. 6, Toto on Aug. 7, The Black Crowes on Aug. 8 and Ne-Yo and Akon on Aug. 9.
Rock the Row
The free live music series Rock the Row will be happening this weekend for its last day this season at the Hughes Landing Band Shell. Attendees will experience live music from Foxy & The Hares.
Starlight Swans
Riva Row Boat House invites families to take a trip down The Woodlands Waterway as they pedal through the water using swan-shaped boats to explore local outdoor sights.
Moonlight Paddle
Attendees can experience serenity in Lake Woodlands with this recurring after-dark event. Passengers in a single or tandem kayak will be guided by staff through illuminated canals and around Aria Island. Preregistration is required.
Friday Night Heights
Friday Night Heights is a thrilling two-hour night climb on Texas TreeVentures’ aerial adventure course in The Woodlands. Participants can explore a new perspective of the park as they swing over lit-up scenery and the nature trails below. Bookings by phone or online are recommended in advance of the event.
Ultimate Duck Dash
The Rob Fleming Aquatic Center is hosting a family-friendly toy duck racing event where participants can decorate a duck, send it down the lazy river and cheer it on to victory. Registration is required to enter a duck in the festivities.
Yes to Youth Gala 2026
The nonprofit youth organization, specializing in offering support to children in crisis, is hosting its annual gala under the theme “Every Child Deserves an Ever After.” Attendees are invited to join the Yes to Youth organization as it champions children in need and recognizes the greater community for its continued support.
Back to School Better event
Church Project located in The Woodlands will host its sixth annual Back to School Better event this weekend. The event will provide school supplies, shoes, clothing, haircuts, food, family resources and more for an estimated 2,500 local students through the Spring and Conroe ISD communities this school year.
