Lone Star College, Arizona State University partner for four-year program transitions for students

A new agreement between Lone Star College System and a four-year university is designed to help students transfer into a baccalaureate program directly after completing their LSCS program, according to the college system.

LSCS inked an articulation agreement with Arizona State University through the MyPath2ASU, according to a LSCS news release.

“This alliance gives Lone Star College students another option to pursue their baccalaureate degree once they complete their studies with us,” said Dwight Smith, LSC vice chancellor of academic and workforce success.

The resulting degree pathways consist of both in-person and online course offerings, according to the news release. The goal is to shorten the path to degree completion while minimizing credit loss, according to the release.

The program includes more than 400 guided pathways; courses that apply to both associate and bachelor's degrees; guaranteed general admission to ASU for students who meet requirements; and self-service progress tracking, among other features, according to the release.

This fall, LSCS assisted more than 13,400 students in transferring to a higher educational institution from the college, and it has articulation agreements with more than 50 four-year colleges and universities, according to LSCS.
