Cyclone Anaya’s Mexican Kitchen puts the The Pura Vida Spicy Ginger Margarita first on its margarita menu list. The drink is blended with conventional margarita ingredients, including tequila and lime, but adds a twist of ingenuity with ginger liqueur and floating serrano pepper slices.
Bartender Ruby Ruiz said the drink is popular at the restaurant because of the heat from the peppers.
“A lot of people like a little spicy [in their margaritas],” Ruiz said.
Chef Jason Gould said because of its popularity, it has a permanent spot on the top shelf margarita list.
