Several new businesses opened this summer, renovated or announced they are planning to open this year in The Woodlands area. Here is a look at a few of them, including Sportika Woodlands Indoor Padel and Happyland Playground.
Waygood Coffee
Waygood Coffee held a grand opening the week of July 20 after its soft opening, according to information from the company.
The coffeehouse specializes in crafting espresso-based drinks with made-in-house customizations, and signature syrups include its housemade vanilla and caramel.
Sportika Woodlands Indoor Padel
Sportika Woodlands Indoor Padel opened in The Woodlands and Magnolia area, the business announced on its Facebook page June 7.
The business posted that it has six indoor padel courts, professional coaching and lessons and clinics for all levels.
Black Walnut
Black Walnut Cafe in The Woodlands reopened after renovations on July 31.
The restaurant sells breakfast, lunch and dinner with menu items such as its new sweet potato breakfast hash, Korean breakfast protein bowl and Texas-sized chicken fried steak.
Happyland Playground
Happyland Playground officials said a soft opening was held at The Woodlands area's new location on July 29. The grand opening took place Aug. 2.
The new indoor playground is designed as a safe, colorful space for kids ages 4-12, officials said. The company is a sister venue to Happyville, but it is designed for slightly older kids.
Gymboree Play & Music
Gymboree Play & Music, a global franchise that specializes in childhood development classes with a focus on music and games, opened a new franchise location in The Woodlands area. The business will celebrate its official opening Aug. 21.
The business offers developmentally appropriate play, music, art, sports, and school skills classes for children from birth through age 6. Its curriculum was designed for the development of all major skills.
