Sugar Land residents will now be able to comment on more agenda items at City Council, board and commission meetings.
What's happening?
At a May 19 meeting, Sugar Land City Council approved voted to expand public comment opportunities to include non-action workshop items rather than just actionable agenda items.
City officials said the change comes after City Council requested an amendment at the March 2026 spring retreat to provide opportunities to "build strong community engagement and feedback mechanisms as outlined in the city’s 2025-27 strategic plan."
