Fort Bend County officials seeking input for community needs survey

Fort Bend County officials are seeking community feedback to shape its five-year consolidated plan to determine the best use of federal funding to benefit low-to-moderate income residents.

The overview

Fort Bend County’s Community Development Department invites the public to participate in its 2025-2029 Housing and Community Needs Survey, according to a June 6 news release.

County officials said the survey will help them outline how funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, or HUD, will be spent on housing, infrastructure, public services and programs.

“Community input is crucial to ensure that the consolidation plan accurately reflects the genuine needs of Fort Bend County residents,” officials said in the release.

The anonymous online survey consists of 36 questions for Fort Bend County residents to answer, including thoughts on:

• Community facilities and infrastructure
• Public services
• Homelessness and special needs populations
• Demographics

Moving forward

The survey will close June 13 and responses will be used to help determine the best use of HUD funds, according to the release.
