Fort Bend ISD will soon have a new chief financial officer, district officials announced in a Sept. 2 news release.

Fort Bend ISD has named Kristopher Lynn as the district’s new chief financial officer replacing Bryan Guinn, who worked in the district for about 11 years, according to his LinkedIn.
The district’s CFO manages finances and business operations with a goal of using resources efficiently to support high-quality education, according to the district’s job posting. The CFO is responsible for developing the budget, creating the district’s financial policies and ensuring finances and operations align with state guidelines.
Career history
Lynn, who brings more than two decades of experience in K-12 finance, operations, budget management and strategic planning, most recently served as assistant director of preconstruction with Stewart Builders, per the release.
He also previously managed financial operations at Channelview ISD before switching to the role of CFO and chief operations officer at Montgomery ISD, according to the release. In Montgomery ISD, he led the district’s Community Bond Task Force and oversaw the passage of a $326.9 million bond in 2022.
Lynn graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, per the release.
