Incumbent Jerry Wyatt has won the Missouri City Council Position 1 race against opponent Pernell Davis, according to unofficial election results with all 26 precincts reporting. "I feel good as usual, and I owe it all to the people of Missouri City who have their trust in me to serve another term," he said. Wyatt received 3,032 votes, or 61.1 percent. Davis received 1,929 votes, or 38.9 percent. In the Position 2 Missouri City Council race, incumbent Chris Preston will face Cynthia Gary in a June 11 runoff. Preston received 1,840 votes, or 37.4 percent, while Gary received 1,548 votes or 31.5 percent. Neither candidate could immediately be reached for comment. Susan Soto came very close to Gary with 1,530 votes, or 31.1 percent.

According to unofficial early voting results released May 7, incumbent Jerry Wyatt is ahead of Pernell Davis in the race for Missouri City City Council Position 1. Wyatt has 2,091 votes, or 62.2 percent of votes, and Davis has 1,270 votes, or 37.8 percent of votes. In a close Position 2 race, incumbent Chris Preston, with 1,247 votes, or 37.6 percent of the votes, is winning against Susan Soto, who has 1,040 votes, or 31.4 percent of the vote, and Cynthia Gary, who has 1,029 votes, or 31 percent of the votes. The top two Position 2 leaders could face each other in a runoff election June 11 if no one candidate gets more than 50 percent of the vote. Davis owns a security company, National Protection Solutions, and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston. His platforms include public safety and developing affordable housing and creating a transportation plan, according to his website. Wyatt, the incumbent, has served on City Council from 1981-94 and since 1998. He retired in 2012 from working in administration and human resources at Memorial Hermann. He said his main platform was using Missouri City tax dollars in the best way possible. Gary is a former Missouri City council member and Fort Bend ISD board of trustees member. She is a sociology professor currently on sabbatical. She was elected to council in 2007 and ran unopposed in 2009. In 2010, she ran for Missouri City mayor. Gary said her platforms for her campaign include increasing economic development, fixing Missouri City's aging infrastructure, increasing the number of the city's first responders and looking into city workers' pay. Preston, the Position 2 incumbent, owns and operates Emerging Ambassadors, a youth development organization. Just completing his first term as a council member, Preston's platforms for his current campaign include governmental transparency, fiscal responsibility and investing in Texas Parkway and other major roads in Missouri City, according to his website. Soto, an attorney and former teacher and principal who has worked in Houston, Spring Branch and Aldine ISDs, said her main platform would be to listen to what constituents want rather than push a personal agenda. The winners of each race will serve two-year terms on the Missouri City council. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
