Bicycle retail and repair shop Sugar Cycles wants to get more area residents out riding. Owner Kyle Davenport leads rides from the shop for beginners and experienced riders during the week, and he said Sugar Land and Missouri City trails are a good place to start.
“We’re trying to do a little more social rides, too, where you do an easy, fun fitness ride, and then you end at a coffee shop or a bar or restaurant,” Davenport said. “The nice thing about Sugar Land [and] Missouri City is the trail system is super friendly to beginners, and it’s even fun to guys who ride expert to intermediate level because it’s so fast and flowy.”
Now in its 10th year in Missouri City, Sugar Cycles offers bicycles not just for professional cyclists, but for families and beginners as well.
“[We sell] everything from family, hybrids to kids bikes all the way up to [a] race bike,” Davenport said. “Our main focus is family, hybrids, comfort [and] fun bikes.”
