Several transportation projects are underway or being lined up for work to begin, according to officials with Harris County and the Texas Department of Transportation. This list is not comprehensive.
Upcoming projects
1. Gosling Road at West Rayford traffic signal
Project: This project will modify the existing signal with a new mast-arm traffic signal to improve traffic flow and safety along Gosling Road. The Harris County Precinct 3 Commissioner’s Office is overseeing the design work.
Update: Design work is underway for a light at the intersection of Gosling Road and West Rayford Road.
2. Hufsmith Road intersection improvementsProject: This will make improvements to the intersections of Hufsmith Road at A.) Kuykendahl Road, B.) Stuebner Airline Road and FM 2978.
Update: Improvements at Kuylendahl Road are complete but improvements at Stuebner Airline are still in design.
3. Cutten Road extensionProject: According to Harris County Precinct 3 officials, this project will construct a four-lane boulevard from Bavaria Drive to Cossey Road with a raised median.
Update: Vogler & Spencer Engineering, Inc. is conducting an engineering study of the roadway, which began in January 2026.

Ongoing projects 4. Kuykendahl Road at Cypressdale Drive traffic signal
Project: Harris County officials are constructing a new traffic signal at the intersection of Kuykendahl Road and Cypressdale Drive to improve traffic flow and safety.
Update: The project is under construction and estimated to wrap up by the end of the year.

5. Hargrave Road asphalt rehabilitationProject: This project will allow for asphalt rehabilitation on Hargrave Road from Hwy. 249 to Falba Road.
Update: The surveying and testing of materials for the project was completed in April.

6. Spring Stuebner Road expansionProject: This project will expand Spring Stuebner Road from two to four lanes from west of Leitner Lane to the Grand Parkway. Existing drainage and traffic signals will also be improved and added as needed.
Update: Precinct 3 officials said construction on this project is expected to take roughly one year to complete.

7. Stuebner Airline Road at Five Forks Drive traffic signalProject: Harris County officials are working on installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of Stuebner Airline Road and Five Forks Drive.
Update: Officials confirmed construction is underway for the new traffic signal.
