Construction is underway on the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Phase 2F to improve intersections and modify traffic signals along Hwy. 6 between West Little York and West roads and on FM 1960 between Fallbrook and Kenswick drives. According to Pamela Rocchi, director of Harris County Precinct 4’s Capital Improvement Projects Division, Harris County’s joint participation CMAQ 4 – Phase 2 project with the Texas Department of Transportation is separated into three segments, and the contract completion date of March 2022 is for the entire CMAQ 4-Phase 2 project.
Below is a breakdown of the current completion status of each segment:
- Phase 2D (Hwy. 249 and FM 529 corridors): 10 of 14 intersections are complete
- Phase 2E (Beltway 8 corridors): 4 of 14 intersections are complete
- Phase 2F (Hwy. 6 and FM 1960 corridors): 9 of 10 intersections are complete
