Brixology Crafted Cocktails opened in Vintage Park in 2012 and specializes in pre-Prohibition style cocktails.
Employees make the tinctures, syrups and juices the bar uses in the cocktails using fruits and herbs, bartender James Reichert said.
The Spiced Old Fashioned ($14) starts with straight rye whiskey, Booker Noe bourbon and angostura bitters, to which Reichert adds homemade turbinado syrup, a vanilla bean, orange peel and a cinnamon stick.
The addition of orange peel and spices gives the drink an aromatic and flavorful quality, Reichert said.
