Texas leads the nation in its number of freight railroad miles, according to the Association of American Railroads, as well as the number of highway-rail incidents in 2018, Federal Railroad Administration data shows. The Spring and Klein community is home to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad line, which runs parallel to Cutten and Old Louetta roads on the western side of the community, and the Union Pacific Corp. railroad line, which runs parallel to East Hardy Road on the eastern side.
