2. The Grand Parkway

Segments F1, F2 and G

Construction of the Grand Parkway is requiring several lane closures and traffic diversions on a number of roads near the project. Drivers should be aware of a left-lane closure on Boudreaux Road—both eastbound and westbound from Hwy. 249 to Old Boudreaux Road—daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Jan. 4. In addition, the left lane of eastbound and westbound Champion Forest Drive from Boudreaux Road to 0.6 miles east of Boudreaux Road will be closed through March 2015. Timeline: Project is estimated to be complete in December 2015.

3. Holderrieth Road improvements

The necessary engineering investigations have been accomplished to warrant the installation of a traffic signal system at the intersection of Hufsmith-Kohrville and Holderrieth roads in Tomball. The project is now in the design phase and will be made available for contractor bidding in winter 2014. Proposed improvements include the installation of a traffic light, pavement widening to accommodate north and eastbound left-turn lanes and related drainage modifications at the intersection.

Timeline: Completion is expected 90 days from the start date in spring 2015.

Cost: $450,000

Funding sources: Tomball Economic Development Corporation, Harris County Precinct 4

4. Spring Cypress Road widening

Harris County plans to expand Spring Cypress Road from four lanes to five lanes from I-45 to Lexington Boulevard in Spring. The project has received a notice to proceed pending utility relocation. It is expected to take 210 days to complete.

Timeline: Completion is expected 210 days from the start of construction.

Cost: $3.49 million

5. Spring Stuebner Road Segment C

Segment C of the Stuebner Road widening project in Spring remains scheduled to be completed Dec. 15 and will open to the public in conjunction with the Holzwarth Road extension. The segment—from Falvel Road to I-45—will be widened from two lanes to four lanes. Segments A and B—from Kuykendahl to Falvel roads—have already been completed and were widened to four lanes as well.

Timeline: Segment C is scheduled for completion Dec. 15.

Cost: $8.96 million for Segment C

6. T.C. Jester signal installation

Harris County continues work on the installation of 10 traffic lights along T.C. Jester Boulevard between FM 1960 and FM 2920 in Spring. The intersections receiving traffic signals include Chapel Bend Drive, Aspen Bend Drive, Kennonview Drive, Glenmere Lane, Winding Ridge Drive, Center Court Drive, Pinelakes Boulevard, Alvin A. Klein Drive, Springbrook Hollow Drive and Spring Creek Oaks Drive.

Timeline: Project is scheduled for completion May 22, 2015.

Cost: $2.89 million
