2. Hufsmith-Kohrville Road widening Segment 1

The clearing activity is nearing completion and the respective utility relocation efforts are underway to widen Segment 1 of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road in Tomball from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard section. Construction on the roadway widening is expected to commence this month. Segment 1 will widen the road from 400 feet south of Spring Cypress Road north to Hollow Glen Lane and will include a storm sewer system, traffic signalization and all additions necessary for a finished project.

Timeline: Completion is expected 10–12 months from November 2014.

Cost: $6.4 million

3. Spring Stuebner Road Segment C

Originally scheduled for completion Dec. 31, Segment C of the Stuebner Road widening project is expected to be completed Dec. 15 and will open to the public in conjunction with the opening of the Holzwarth Road extension. The segment—from Falvel Road to I-45—will be widened from two lanes to four lanes. Segments A and B—from Kuykendahl Road to Falvel Road—have already been completed and were widened to four lanes as well.

Timeline: Segment C is scheduled for completion Dec. 15.

Cos t: $8.96 million for Segment C

4. Tomball Tollway

The paving of the Tomball Tollway from Spring Cypress Road to Canyon Gate Pointe Drive is 95 percent complete and all the retaining walls have been fully constructed. Most of the segment from Canyon Gate Pointe Drive to Willow Creek is being constructed as one long elevated span that crosses over Boudreaux Road and then crosses where the frontage roads of where the Grand Parkway will eventually intersect with the Tomball Tollway frontage road. The Tomball Tollway main lanes will be elevated above ground level, and the Grand Parkway main lanes are being constructed one level higher. Phase 1 of the Harris County Toll Road Authority project will be a six-lane—three in each direction—electronically monitored tollway in the median between the existing Hwy. 249 main lanes.

Timeline: Project is estimated to be complete in spring 2015.

5. Holzwarth Road extension

Originally scheduled for completion Oct. 20, the northern segment of the Holzwarth Road extension, from north of

Emerson Ridge Drive to Spring Stuebner Road, was completed Nov. 4. The extension includes a four-lane roadway and storm sewer system.

Timeline: Completed Nov. 4 and will be opened to the public in conjunction with the completion of Spring Stuebner Road Segment C on Dec. 15

Cost: $2.05 million

6. Old Town Spring road repairs

Old Town Spring roads have received a facelift, including the removal of worn, depressed or broken sections of roadway and the repaving and restriping of each thoroughfare. Repair work began Sept. 30 on sections of East Hardy and West Hardy roads starting at Goedecke Road continuing north about one mile. The project includes sections between Caroline and Noble streets between West Hardy and Aldine Westfield roads and a section of Spring Stuebner Road from I-45 to Border Street.

Timeline: Project is scheduled for completion in early November.
