Joining a community with a rich agricultural history that several local farmers and farmers markets still call home, Sprouts Farmers Market plans to open its fifth Houston-area location Aug. 20 at 20708 Kuykendahl Road.
Donna Egan, director of corporate communications for Sprouts, said the 28,000-square-foot grocery store and farmers market will have open at 7 a.m. Aug. 20 at the location in Spring. In addition to fresh produce, the store will house an olive bar, deli catering trays, Boars Head meat, fresh sushi, beer and wine. Egan said the store may also feature the produce from local farmers in the area.
"We work closely with farmers at a local level and state level all the way up to international based on the season and consumer demand," Egan said. "We do prioritize local produce to make sure we get the freshest produce we can for our customers."
Egan said the store will be the fifth in the Greater Houston area, a market the business only recently opened stores in a few years ago. She said Sprouts took over two other retailers in the Houston area—Sunflowers and Henry's—and has opened other stores in the market from the ground up.
