Joining the recent influx of development at Kuykendahl Road and FM 2920, the Houston Methodist Primary Care Group has announced plans to open a 7,000-square-foot primary care facility at the intersection that could house as many as six primary care physicians.
"Methodist is looking to be out in our community so we can create access points to deliver the right care for our patients," said Stephen Spielman, president of Methodist's Primary Care Group. "Certainly that area where we're building makes a huge opportunity for us with the population growth of course with the Exxon development coming in and the industry out in that area. We see that as truly a critical place for Methodist to put a primary care clinic."
Spielman said the building could be completed by the end of the year in the French Quarter development at 7111 FM 2920. The primary care facility could also see weekly visits from specialists, such as radiologists and orthopedic surgeons.
"Primary care physicians refer to specialists, and it's easier for the people in the community to bring the specialists to them," Spielman said. "It's easier for patients, and specialists like to get out into the community to build those relationships. So we think it's a win-win for everybody."
