The HCA Healthcare Foundation—HCA Healthcare's philanthropic affiliate—announced in an April 16 news release the distribution of $150,000 in grants to Gulf Coast-area coronavirus relief efforts.
According to the release, that $150,000 includes $110,000 for the Greater Houston COVID-19 Recovery Fund, $10,000 for the United Way Galveston County Mainland, $10,000 for the United Way of the Coastal Bend COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund and $20,000 for the Food Bank of the Rio Grand Valley.
"Like our colleagues that are serving on the front lines of this crisis by providing lifesaving care to patients, local organizations are also stepping up to address the needs of their communities in remarkable ways, including emergency response, addressing food shortages and providing childcare for health care workers and first responders," HCA Healthcare CEO Sam Hazen said in a statement. "HCA Healthcare is honored to support our communities during this unprecedented time of rapidly changing needs."
The one-time $110,000 grant for the Greater Houston COVID-19 Recovery Fund aims to support some of the area's most vulnerable by supporting more than 30 nonprofit organizations across Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery and Waller counties. For a complete list of grantees, click here.
