Since opening its doors in 1976, Sound Revolution has offered a variety of vinyl, tapes and CDs in the Spring-Klein area.

The details

The local record store is celebrating its 50th anniversary in October, co-owner Sunne Walton said. She owns the shop with her husband, Scott Waldrum.

Walton said the store’s “longevity is amazing” to see, and she gives some credit to younger customers for their increased interest in owning physical media like CDs.

“I think it's a huge impact that customers are still supporting small businesses and stuff, and for the love of music as well,” Walton said.

Sound Revolution offers a variety of T-shirts, skateboards, posters and other gifts across its two locations, Community Impact previously reported. The shop also periodically has in-store listening parties and performances, Walton said.
