The master-planned community, Lariat Liberty Hill, feels like a piece of the Texas Hill Country brought to life. The land rises and falls with gentle hills, wide oak trees provide shade and a central fishing pond sits at the heart of the neighborhood.

“It still boggles my mind when I'm driving [through Lariat], and I ... look to the side and can see for miles,” developer Grant Rollo said. “When I look to the east, I see the river. When I look to the northeast, I see hundreds of acres of green, untouched land. It feels like I’m somewhere that man hasn't touched yet.”

That sense of awe is no accident. From its earliest planning, Lariat was envisioned as a community that embraced the Hill Country’s topography while encouraging neighbors to connect and go back to the basics.

“It's how nature was intended to be,” Rollo said. “We were able to preserve just about every live oak heritage tree, so there's something reminiscent of simpler days.”

Beyond its sweeping landscapes, Lariat has become a community of smaller, vibrant pockets. Sidewalks and trail systems weave through parks, playgrounds and quiet corners designed for connection.

“Over the last several months we started installing all of our pocket parks throughout the community that our sidewalks and trail systems connect to,” Rollo said. “We have a park dedicated to toddlers, a big playscape at the amenity center for older kids and a trail system that goes around the entire neighborhood and [leads to] the river and the creek.”

These spaces invite both play and peace.

“We have people who like to walk around and enjoy silence and nature. ... That's something they'd appreciate about how the park is just trees and a few benches,” Rollo said.

On the other hand, outdoor fitness equipment and the fishing pier give residents plenty of ways to be active. Pickleball and basketball courts are also currently under construction.

Phase 2 details

While Phase 1 offered 40- to 60-foot lots, Phase 2 introduces larger homesites, expanding opportunities for residents to stay rooted in the neighborhood as their needs evolve.

“Phase 2 goes from 60-[foot lots] and up,” Rollo said. “It's become the highlight that there's a new option in Lariat for someone who may be looking for a little bit more [space].”

That flexibility means families can grow without leaving.

“[Lariat is] now a full-fledged neighborhood where people can move up with life's necessities all within the same community,” Rollo said.

Builders in Phase 2 include:
  • Tri Pointe Homes
  • Coventry Homes
  • Highland Homes
  • Drees Homes
  • Castlerock Communities
  • Perry Homes

Looking ahead

The future of Lariat is as ambitious as its beginning. Rollo said the last section of Phase 2 will be breaking ground in early 2026. This section will be up on a secluded hill and feature 80-foot lots with higher-end homes.

One of the most anticipated additions is the new elementary school, already under construction and expected to open in fall 2026.

For those who choose to call Lariat home, the vision remains clear: timeless design, Hill Country beauty and space to grow together.

“[Lariat] is classical in a lot of ways,” Rollo said. “The Texas Hill Country has a certain aesthetic in people's minds, and I think Lariat, the builders and their design teams have done a great job capturing that and maintaining it throughout everything that's been built to date.”

All Phase 2 model homes are now open, and Westin Homes has a new model home underway, with 60-foot lots available in Phase 1. Discover Lariat Liberty Hill and find a home surrounded by trails, trees and timeless Hill Country views.
