Milestone Church's journey: From 32 members in Abilene to a thriving Keller community hub

What started in 2002 as a group of 32 people in Abilene has transformed into a large church that serves the Keller community through reaching people and building lives.

Milestone Church is located at 201 Mount Gilead Road, Keller, and is led by Pastor Jeff Little. The church also has other campuses in McKinney and Haslet. Recently, the campus added a brand new kids building, and has seen the community continue to thrive and grow.

“We have always had a vision to be a church that finds ways to serve our community,” Little said. “But a vision without action is just a dream. The people of our church have owned that vision. They are generous and people who love to see a need and meet it.”

The church offers multiple different services throughout each month, including youth, young adults, men, women, marriage, local outreach and mission trips.

Weekend service times:

  • Keller: Saturday 5 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m.

  • McKinney: Sunday 9:30 a.m.; 11:15 a.m.

  • Haslet: Sunday 9:30 a.m.; 11:15 a.m.

  • Online: Saturday 5 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m.; 11 a.m.; 12:30 p.m.

One way that the church likes to give back to the community is through local outreach to schools in Keller ISD. Being able to support teachers and students is something that is one of the core values of Milestone Church.

Over the years, Milestone Church has engaged in multiple community activities to help lend support to the district.

Some of the outreach activities:

  • Grocery giveaways: gave away bags of groceries and served food to 11 Title One schools in KISD

  • Shoe giveaways: provided a new pair of shoes for 1,000 students at a Title One elementary school

  • Thanksgiving food drive: was able to feed over 2,000 people for Thanksgiving

  • Serve Day: thousands of people came together and did hundreds of projects across the community

  • Christmas giveaway: gave Christmas gifts to teachers at three Title One elementary schools

“The majority of our school is free and reduced,” KISD Prinicpal Angel Magruder said. “Our families are struggling. They are not making it financially. So, to have anyone know that we are being prayed for and cared for, it's incredible. I don't cry much in this career, but when I saw the first child that ran out in their shoes, I thought 'I'm going to cry tonight.’”

For those who are wanting to learn more about what it means to be a member of Milestone Church, there is a program called Discovery 101. This allows people to meet Pastor Little along with the rest of the pastoral team.

They’ll also get to hear about the vision and values of the church, and what makes it so special.

“I feel so honored that I get to be the pastor, but the people of Milestone are the ones making the difference,” Little said.
