With specialty-flavored coffee drinks and staff members who greet customers like friends, 7 Brew in Fort Worth is not an average coffee shop.

The coffee franchise has locations across the U.S. and is primarily a drive-thru with outside seating at select locations. The Fort Worth 7 Brew is located at 5001 N. Tarrant Pkwy.

Creating customer connections

Director of Marketing and Human Resources Hannah Schalk said the way 7 Brew staff interact with customers is unique.

“Whenever a customer comes through the lanes or the walk-up window and they talk with our staff, they are greeted with a smile and they have that genuine connection,” Hannah said. “A lot of places are all about moving fast and trying to get things done, and we're trying to take it back to when people really valued communication with one another.”

Director of Operations Jonathan Schalk said staff members walk out to the cars in the drive-through lane to greet them and answer any questions about the menu.

“We pride ourselves on being kind and spreading joy and putting a smile on people's faces for the five minutes that they're in the drive-through lane,” Jonathan said.

Hannah said in a more traditional coffee shop setting, the customer has to initiate a conversation with the barista. Having the employees walk out to meet the cars creates a unique experience for the customers.

“This way we have our staff coming and catering to the customer,” she said.

The menu

The 7 Brew menu features over 20,000 flavor combinations and many customization options such as alternative milks and sugar-free flavors. In addition to coffee, customers can order energy drinks, teas, smoothies and lemonades.

“If there's a flavor you can think of, we can make it,” Jonathan said. “We certainly will strive to do our best to make sure we meet the flavor profile of everybody's needs and wants.”

Popular menu items include the coffee shop’s seven original flavors:
  • Blondie: caramel and vanilla breve
  • Brunette: hazelnut and caramel mocha
  • Smooth 7: white chocolate and Irish cream breve
  • Cinnamon Roll: brown sugar cinnamon and white chocolate breve
  • White Chocolate Mocha: White and milk chocolate mocha
  • German Chocolate: Coconut and caramel mocha
  • Sweet & Salty: salted caramel and white chocolate breve
7 Brew offers a loyalty program that allows customers to earn points for a free drink. The business also offers “Double-Points Tuesday” where customers can earn twice the amount of points for their purchase.

“For every drink customers get 100 points. For every 1,000 points customers get to redeem [points] for a free drink,” Jonathan said.

Giving back

7 Brew is involved in the Fort Worth community in multiple ways, including donations to the children’s hospital, a Coffee with Cops event and “Swag Days,” during which the franchise gives t-shirts and other merchandise to customers to celebrate the opening of a new location.

“We try to find things where we can give back to the community because these are the people who are supporting our business,” Hannah said. “We'd like to try to give back and show our thanks to all these wonderful people who have accepted us into the neighborhood.”
