Since opening in July, veteran and locally owned Deck N Cable Railing LLC has already developed a stellar reputation around Round Rock and the surrounding Austin area.

Their secret? A rarely seen attention to detail and customer satisfaction by owner Juan Pena.

Their story

Located at 109 S. Sheppard St. in Round Rock, the business originally started when Juan decided to leave a previous business he owned with a partner to be on his own, so he could run a business with his core values and work ethic.

Juan discovered his talent for building and renovations while performing contracting work for a real estate company he owns in South Carolina. Since then, he has extended this passion and experience to Deck N Cable Railing LLC’s extensive list of services.

Services offered by Deck N Cable Railing LLC include:
  • Deck design, installation, staining and repairs
  • Fence installation, staining and repairs
  • Stainless steel cable railings
  • Metal, iron or wood railings
  • Repair services for decks, patios, railing and fences
  • Staining or painting outdoor areas including decks, fences or any other outdoor structure
  • Power washing and refinishing
  • Screened-in porch, pergola, balcony/patio extensions, outdoor lighting and fans
Secret to success

Though many businesses can pride themselves on attention to detail, it’s Juan’s personal dedication that has earned the business a raving fan base. Juan works seven days a week and is up early every morning to get the first crew started on the project of the day. He also strives to make sure that every project is finished in exactly the time frame estimate he gives to each customer.

As the owner, Juan makes an effort to visit each construction site daily to ensure everything is running smoothly. Even with this hands-on approach, the business has managed to take on projects throughout Austin and surrounding areas, not just in Round Rock.

Even though Juan has a good team behind him who are experienced and know what they're doing, he thinks it's important to oversee each project to make sure it's moving in the right direction and the crews are doing everything the way the customer wants.

Going above and beyond

Not only does Juan stick to a strict time schedule, he also likes to give back to his community. The business currently offers a veteran discount for active and retired military personnel, as Juan himself is a 20-year army veteran. Juan prides himself on being reliable and running a business the community can count on. Each project is backed by a two-year warranty on materials and labor.

“The advantage of being a small, as well as local company, is customers can either come to my office or I can meet them on short notice. I can easily come out to make adjustments or additions to the project,” Juan said. “My goal is for every customer to be happy with the outcome and feel we have improved their space”
