What if a simple walk around your neighborhood could help you find a moment of calm, spark your imagination or bring you closer to your neighbors? At Jubilee, a master-planned community by Johnson Development with a focus on wellness, those opportunities are intentionally built into the neighborhood.

From colorful playgrounds and interactive trails to spaces for gathering and quiet reflection, the community is designed to make wellness part of everyday life. Its four Wellness Zones offer residents different ways to connect with themselves, nature and one another, with additional amenities planned throughout the community.

What are Jubilee’s four wellness zones?

Wellness Zones are strategically designed amenity spaces that have clear intentions. At Jubilee, wellness is built into the community, giving residents different ways to support their physical, social, mental and emotional well-being.

“Everything at Jubilee is intentional, including the way we approach wellness,” Director of Marketing Kore Deaville said. “When we envisioned Jubilee, we wanted to go beyond the traditional idea of wellness being centered primarily on physical health. We wanted to consider the whole person, including mental and emotional well-being. That led us to create spaces throughout the community that encourage residents to connect, explore, reflect and find inspiration as part of their everyday lives.”

Jubilee’s four categories include:

  • Connection Zone: Designed to bring residents together, encourage social interaction and help neighbors form meaningful connections, with colorful, energetic surroundings that invite gathering.

  • Exploration Zone: Encourages residents to connect with nature, discover their surroundings and engage their curiosity through nature-inspired features and opportunities for hands-on exploration.

  • Reflection Zone: Provides peaceful spaces for residents to slow down, recharge and enjoy moments of mindfulness or solitude, complemented by calming lavender and mint hues.

  • Inspiration Zone: Sparks creativity, imagination and joy for residents of all ages through engaging artwork, playful elements and bright, uplifting surroundings.

The goal is to make wellness part of residents’ everyday routines. Jubilee is working toward placing a Wellness Zone within a half-mile walking distance of every home, with trails connecting residents to parks, recreation areas and gathering spaces throughout the community.

The zones also can serve multiple purposes. A water feature may encourage exploration while offering a peaceful place to sit, while an outdoor fitness area can support both physical and mental well-being.

How do connection zones bring neighbors together?

Connection Zones are designed to encourage residents to step away from their screens and engage with the people around them.

At Cheerful Plaza, an open-air party pavilion, picnic tables, a grill and a fire pit create space for outdoor meals, evening conversations, neighborhood celebrations and block parties. Elation Station features a built-in outdoor pingpong table, cornhole yard games and adirondack chairs overlooking the water.

More opportunities are planned at The Hearth, a future pavilion and gathering space with a built-in gas-powered pizza oven where neighbors can share food and connect outdoors.

Why do Exploration Zones encourage residents to reconnect with nature?

Exploration Zones are designed around ecotherapy, or the idea that interacting directly with nature can help people relax, restore focus and feel more connected to their surroundings.

At Wild Wander, children and adults can cross stepping stones over custom weir water structures, explore water features, use nets along the water’s edge and move through the surrounding grass. The space also shows how the zones can overlap, offering opportunities for both active exploration and quiet reflection.

Future amenities will add more hands-on experiences. Cultivate Commons will provide space for a community garden where residents can participate in farm-to-table growing, while Pollinator Point will introduce a butterfly garden planted with native flora.

Jubilee’s trail network also gives residents opportunities to walk, jog, watch local wildlife, enjoy the views and experience nature without leaving the community.

Where can residents find a moment of reflection?

Reflection Zones offer places to pause, breathe and step away from the pace of daily life.

At Breathing Bridge, a reflection rock overlooks the detention ponds beneath “Breathe In” signage. Nearby, Hammock Hideaway offers custom-framed hammock beds.

For residents who find clarity through movement, Power Place will soon offer outdoor fitness equipment. Although categorized as a Reflection Zone, the space will provide another way to combine exercise, fresh air and mental well-being.

The zones also use intentional colors and visual cues. Reflection areas feature calming lavender and mint tones, while Inspiration Zones use brighter shades such as orange and yellow. Connection areas are colorful and energetic, while Exploration Zones draw from natural colors.

What makes Jubilee’s Inspiration Zones different?

Inspiration Zones are designed to bring creativity into everyday routines through public art, bright colors, artistic architecture and imaginative play.

At Sunshine Park, children can enjoy a brightly colored playground and shaded swing structure near Happy Home Street. Chromatic Crossing adds bold artwork and colorful architectural details to the neighborhood, making even a daily walk visually engaging.

Coming soon, Storybook Stroll will create an interactive “trail with a tale” based on a curious fox and a wise owl. Along the route, participants will be invited to hop, balance, wave, stretch, listen and look up. The story can be read from either direction. A future Music Park also will offer interactive outdoor instruments for multisensory play.

How does community programming bring these spaces to life?

Jubilee’s wellness approach extends beyond individual amenities. The Joy Hub recreation center currently includes a co-working lounge for residents, an 11,000-square-foot resort-style pool and splash pad. Phase 2 is expected to add resident event space, wellness flex rooms for visiting health vendors, offices for the HOA and Lifestyle teams, and a community mural.

The community also has a full-time Lifestyle Director who plans more than 75 events each year. Four annual Signature Events highlight the four wellness categories, giving residents and guests opportunities to experience the spaces through nature-focused activities, reflection events, creative programming and community gatherings.

“We’re not just building amenities and hoping residents use them. We’re creating opportunities for people to experience wellness in different ways, whether that means connecting with neighbors, spending time outdoors, finding a quiet moment or trying something creative,” Deaville said. “Our Lifestyle Director helps bring that vision to life throughout the year.”
