For years, a familiar voice filled the airwaves across Aggieland, breaking down Texas A&M football, analyzing game-day matchups and keeping fans connected to sports news. That voice belonged to Gabe Bock.
For 18 years, Bock worked in sports broadcasting, including a decade hosting TexAgs’ daily sports talk show. Today, however, his conversations center on a different arena: market trends, property values and guiding families through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
In 2021, Bock left sports media to join his wife, Megan, at Bock Realty Group, a move that helped shape the premier residential real estate team in Bryan-College Station.
The story behind the move
The decision didn’t happen overnight. In fact, it started as a joke during a December 2019 family road trip. Exhausted after a demanding football season, Gabe passed a billboard for a real estate school and casually asked Megan what it would look like if he left broadcasting to join her business.
At the time, the idea seemed far-fetched. Gabe was living out a childhood dream, while Megan was already building a thriving career in local real estate. But three months later, the pandemic brought live sports to a five-month standstill.
Hosting three hours of daily talk radio with no active games to cover forced Gabe to reconsider the idea he had once laughed about.
After months of reflection and prayer, Gabe announced his departure from broadcasting in May 2021, earned his real estate license and joined Megan full time.
What is Bock Realty Group?
When Gabe joined the firm, he stepped into a business Megan had built from the ground up through a passion for “people, properties and paperwork.” A former schoolteacher, Megan built her business on proactive communication, client care and word-of-mouth referrals.
Today, Bock Realty Group is the No. 1 real estate team in the Bryan-College Station market, with more than a dozen agents specializing in residential real estate. While deeply rooted in Aggieland, the firm’s reach extends across an approximately one-hour radius of Bryan-College Station and into North Houston through its Houston-based team. The company serves clients across every stage of homeownership, from first-time home purchases and sales to luxury properties, new construction, real estate investments and land developments.
For Gabe, the transition allowed him to leverage familiar strengths. His nearly two decades behind a microphone translated into analyzing market data, explaining price trends and building on relationships throughout the community.
“When I left radio, a good friend told me, ‘Your audience is about to get exponentially smaller, but your conversations are about to get exponentially more important,’” Gabe said. “On the air, communication was a one-way street. Now, it’s about turning that around, listening more than talking, asking the right questions and being a trusted guide during a major life transition.”
A team built around its strengths
But Gabe and Megan say the experience at Bock Realty Group is about more than the agent a client first meets.
Rather than expecting each agent to handle everything, from analyzing market data and negotiating contracts to coordinating photography, staging and marketing, the company operates as a collaborative team.
Agents can develop their own specialties while drawing on the support of listing coordinators, marketing professionals and other team members throughout a transaction. The goal, Megan said, is to combine each person’s strengths to create a stronger client experience.
“We do not compete with each other inside the team,” she said. “We have put together like a superpower of everyone’s gifts to pour into our clients.”
The approach gives clients an entire team supporting their purchase or sale rather than relying on one person to do every job.

Growing alongside Aggieland
For Gabe and Megan, Bock Realty Group’s growth is closely tied to the community they have called home for more than two decades.
Gabe arrived in College Station in 2000, and Megan followed in 2001. Both came to attend Texas A&M, met on campus and ultimately chose to stay, raising their three children in Bryan-College Station.
As the company has grown, the couple has continued investing in the community around them. This year, Bock Realty Group is moving into a new office with about 2.5 times the space of its previous location, creating more room for the growing team to collaborate and giving clients a dedicated space to celebrate closing day.
The company has also launched the free Aggieland Living App, where residents can search homes, check property values, find community events and local discounts, view Aggie sports schedules and connect with Bock Realty Group’s preferred vendors.
Together, the new office and app represent the next chapter for a company built by two Aggies who came to College Station for school—and never left.
